Shoot for the Cure sponsored by the Hannibal Public School System was held Friday, January 13 at Korf Gymnasium. The evening offered various ways for the community to help raise funds to assist local friends and family who are fighting cancer. Over $3,100 was raised for the Hannibal Regional Hospital Foundation Life.Light.Hope. Fund, which offers assistance and resources to patients of the James E. Cary Cancer Center.
Staff of the Hannibal Public Schools worked with the community to sell shirts, memorials and bracelets with all proceeds benefiting the Life.Light.Hope. Fund. Gate donations from the Varsity basketball games versus Macon also supported the fund. An outpouring of support from local businesses also offered various giveaways throughout the night, thanking those who attended the event. A complete list of those businesses supporting this event can be found on Hannibal Regional Hospital Foundation’s website at hrhf.org.
“We offer our sincerest appreciation of the school system and our community for their incredible generosity. Their kindness and generosity will assist our local neighbors and friends as they fight cancer at the James E. Cary Cancer Center. It was a pleasure to work with the staff of the Hannibal Public Schools who have a passion for helping others beat cancer,” stated Wendy Harrington, CEO/President of Hannibal Regional Hospital Foundation.
