Hannibal Regional Hospital Foundation hosted the second annual Bone Boogie costume party and dance on Saturday evening, October 29, 2011. The Bone Boogie event raised over $6,500 to benefit the Hannibal Regional Hospital Foundation’s
Back In Motion Fund.
"We are so thankful to those who joined us for a fun evening in support of our Bone Boogie," commented Wendy Harrington, President/CEO, Hannibal Regional Hospital Foundation. "Their generosity is in fact support of our orthopedic patients as 100% of the event's proceeds benefit the Hannibal Regional Hospital Foundation
Back In Motion Fund. This fund will assist in fostering the healing process of our Hospital’s orthopedic patients before, during and after surgery."
The Halloween-themed benefit dance was held at the Quality Inn. A feature of the evening was the appearance of Hannibal Regional Healthcare System President/CEO John C. Grossmeier and wife, Mary, dressed in their “Beekeeper” costumes. The Grossmeier’s costumes were selected by popular vote.
A costume contest also highlighted the night with
Best Couple going to Gene and Kathy Calhoun for their portrayal of Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog,
Most Disguised to Andrea King for her Scary Old Woman costume,
Scariest to Craig King the Axe Murderer,
Best Group to the “Sheet” Family, and
Best Overall Costume to The Addams Family.
A drawing was also held, with winner Sherri Robison receiving a Branson Getaway. "It was a fun evening, with great creativity, costumes and dancing, and we look forward to next year," commented Dr. Curtis Burton, Chair of the Hannibal Regional Hospital Foundation Board of Directors.
